Police and crime is a factor within Cities: Skylines. Overtime, citizens may contribute to criminal activity, and threaten the safety of others in the neighbourhood. this is likely caused by lack of education[1], unemployment and poor access to services. To help reduce criminal activity, police stations and headquarters provide police units to patrol the city and help reduce the Crime Level. Should a neighbourhood's high crime level, or have not been responded by a police car, for too long, then they may become Abandoned. You can review the current crime level by reviewing the overlay.

Buildings[]

Police spawn from Police Stations and Police Headquarters; The latter is more expensive but provides more coverage and more cars. Ideally, Police Stations may be built in local, low density areas, such as city outskirts, and the Headquarters to govern the city center and other high density areas where there are more roads to cover.
